David
Forest is a character actor and presenter with extensive
film, television, radio and theatre experience.
For BBC Radio 2 he wrote
and narrated Dearest Chris,
a biography of the lyric writer Christopher
Hassall. He has compiled and narrated many features
for BBC Radio 4, including Oh
Canada!, A Year in Paris
on £100, Through
Rare West Kerry, The Case
of Mrs Maybrick and the series Four
on a Tour (Gillian Reynolds' Choice
of the Day).
Also for Radio 4 he interviewed Mary
Ellis in 92 and Still
Working. He has also presented several talks,
for BBC World Service and Radio
4, based on his own experiences, including Lawyer
to Cabby.

Most recently, he provided voiceovers in an animations workshop
at the National Film and Television
School.
He is a native R.P. speaker, whose naturally sincere and gentle
speaking voice is illustrated by such roles as Sir
Arthur Keith in the BBC series, Days
That Shook the World. He has also played aggressively
spoken characters such as the Librarian in
the film, The Invitation (21st
Century Productions).
David has developed a range of vocal skills in the course of
his wide-ranging portfolio career as City solicitor, London cab
driver, Blue Badge tourist guide, writer and broadcaster.
Language skills include
French, Spanish and Greek. Other
accents include Yorkshire, West Country, German and US.
Recent screen work includes The
Illusionist and Band
of Brothers. Theatre includes Funeral
Games (Orton), Spring
Awakening (Wedekind), The
Old Curiosity Shop and Polonius in Hamlet.
